How to Use Mapping String with a Protractor Ruler

Prep First
Always sanitize your protractor ruler before and after each use to maintain proper hygiene.

Step 1: Secure the String
Tie the string to both ends of the protractor ruler. Make sure the string is pulled tight — not loose — so you get clean, precise lines when mapping.

Step 2: Lock It In Place
Create a knot on each end to fully secure the string. Double-check that it doesn’t move or shift while you’re working.

Step 3: Load the String with Pigment
If you’re using mapping thread, take your favorite brow mapping pencil and evenly coat the string. This helps transfer crisp, visible lines onto the skin for accurate mapping.
